Embarcation: 30 Rock

By the time I started my teaching career, Dr. Wilder Penfield had published his Permanent Record of the Stream of Consciousness (more on Penfield at my Brain Blog). It's been 40 years, and on this day I've been inspired to open this, the permanent record of MY stream of consciousness, like a series of snapshots for the next 60 years and beyond.

First stop: 11:41 am, October 13, 2010, 30 Rockefeller Center.
Human history is a long string of heroic acts, both large and small. I'll begin with: Man at the Crossroads Looking with Hope and High Vision to the Selection of a New and Better Future, begun by Diego Rivera in March of 1933, the Censured Mural at 30 Rockefeller Center New York City.
Photographers were banned from the center but Lucienne Block, one of Rivera's assistants, snuck a camera into the building, and took the only original record of the mural destroyed February 1934.
